Cancelling or disconnecting your account is easy. Simply send your request via email to [email protected] Written notice, via email, is required to avoid any confusion or mistakes. Please include your requested cancellation date in your message.
Moving out soon? Please give us notice well in advance, before you move out, so we have time to cancel and disconnect your service before the next auto-renewal.
Remember we do not pro-rate service, so you need to cancel before your next renewal to avoid another charge. We ask for 30-day notice, but that is only so we can guarantee we can shut off your automatic renewal well in advance of your desired cancellation.
Please make sure you are sending the request from the same email account where you receive monthly statements. This is the billing email account we use to communicate with you on all official business. This is how we know the request is coming from you and not a practical joke from a friend (yea, that's happened.)
For Lansing area subscribers, if you have a rental router, please return the equipment to our office at 4942 Dawn Avenue, East Lansing, MI 48823. Please return the router before the cancellation date to avoid any additional charges. If you do not return the equipment, you are responsible for paying the replacement cost of the router. That will be billed upon cancellation, but will be refunded to you so long as your equipment is returned within 30 days of the cancellation date.
DO NOT return the ONT mounted in your home (the little white box) unless we instruct you to do so. This is a permanent fixture in the home. Please keep it in place for future LightSpeed subscribers moving into your home/apartment.
We can not retroactively cancel your account. The cancellation is not effective until you ask us to cancel via email.
As explained, all cancellation requests must be submitted via email to [email protected] and should include your desired cancellation date. For your protection, we will request confirmation from the billing email address kept on file. This is for your protection, to insure someone isn't cancelling your account by mistake. (Yep, you guessed it, this actually happens.)
Termination notices received after 5pm or on non-business days may not be considered effective until the following business day.
CANCELLATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED VIA TELEPHONE.
CANCELLATIONS WILL NOT BE RETROACTIVELY APPLIED TO AN ACCOUNT.
